The flower parade in Blankenburge is the traditional closing of the summer season in the coastal town. The Flower Parade was first organised in 1895 and therefore boasts a long history, The floral event is organised by the city. Each year the Flower Parade is according to a specific theme. Around 20 large floats participate every time along with marching bands enlightening the procession and also show orchestras and dance groups ensure extra colour lively entertainment. This flower show brings in more that 100,000 visitors every year.
